Located in the Gedeb region, south of Yirgacheffe, the Lelisa estate was purchased by the Eptah company in 2023. The farm spans 3.5 hectares at an altitude of 2,150–2,200 meters. It is equipped with 350 drying beds and has 20 permanent staff members.
The estate is home to various native trees, the most prevalent being Ensete (the “false” banana tree); in their shade, the Heirloom coffee trees grow naturally.
The plot from which this Red Honey lot was selected produces an average of 3,600 kg of coffee cherries. During the harvest season, which begins in late November and ends in January, Eptah employs up to 250 people from the local community.
The region is predominantly Christian, with Orthodox and Protestant followers, who benefit from various social projects initiated by Eptah. These include the establishment of a childcare center for farmers’ children and participation in the Ama Commitment program, which supports women farmers.
