This medium amber honey comes from the blossoms of coffee trees.
Bees play a crucial role in the healthy development of coffee plants, leading to higher-quality yields for farmers who harvest coffee alongside their other forest products.
The flowers bloom every year in January and February, resulting in a February–March honey harvest.
Our coffee honey is sourced from several outstanding honey producers across the Gera Forest, as well as from a few in Agaro Town (a nearby area known for its delicious coffee).
PRODUCTION:
Smallholder farmers and beekeepers produce honey with us through mostly traditional beehives hung up in trees, with some additional production via “modern” box hives.
In-factory production involves the following steps; heat/cold press separation is the initial step to extract honey from the capping, which is then followed by filtration to filter out potential impurities.
